• Completed application. (via Student Application Portal, Common App, or CFNC)
  • $65 nonrefundable fee or fee waiver. (Note: UNCG accepts fee waivers for Transfer Students if they participate in our Transfer Information Program). We do not participate in the CFNC Free Application Week.)
  • Community standards questionnaire. The UNC system requires all applicants to complete this form.
  • Official College Transcripts (including summer session or extension work) sent directly from the registrar of each institution you have attended to the UNCG Office of Undergraduate Admissions (Students with international credentials should review the course-by-course NACES accredited evaluation on the Requirements for International Students page).

  • You are considered a transfer student if you have 24 or more transferable college credit hours from an accredited institution and have graduated high school/earned an equivalency.
  • Are eligible to return to the last institution you attended.

If you have fewer than 24 transferable college credit hours from an institution accredited by one of the agencies below, then you are considered a first-year transfer student. First-year transfer students must meet requirements under both transfer and first-year admissions requirements programs.

For your credits to be eligible to transfer, they must come from an institution accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), or WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

To be considered for admission to UNCG, you must have:

  • An overall and transferable GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (UNCG recalculates your GPA to determine admissibility).
  • In addition, you must be in good standing and eligible to return to the last institution that you attended. If you are ineligible to return, you must regain your eligibility by returning to your last institution or by establishing residency and good standing at another accredited institution.
