Congratulations on your acceptance to UNC Greensboro! Please see below for more information about next steps to enroll at UNCG.
save your space (do this first!)
When you log in to SpartanLink, you’ll be prompted to accept our offer of admission. This is your first step to lock in your seat at UNCG.
Activate your accounts
Check your email for your university ID, which will be sent to your personal email account 24 hours after your decision is released. Once you have your ID number in hand and you have confirmed your intent to enroll, take the following steps to create the accounts you’ll need as a UNCG student.
- Activate your accounts at Computer Accounts Activation. This process creates your default UNCG Login account, including your UNCG username.
- Wait 1-2 hours for account activation.
- Reset your password. Before starting to use your accounts, you must first reset your password. You can do this after your accounts are ready (1-2 hours after account activation form is submitted).
UNCGenie is the portal you’ll use to register for classes, pay your tuition and fees, and take care of other university-related business. You will need your University ID and PIN to log in to UNCGenie. (Your University ID is sent in an email after you confirm your admission. You’ll need to create your PIN before you can log in.)
ISpartan is your official UNCG email account. Plan to check this account often, even in the months before classes start; you may receive important messages about financial aid, tuition, and more.
Apply for Financial Aid
Apply for financial aid by filing your FAFSA. Our priority aid deadline is December 1, but we award aid until the beginning of the semester. If you plan to apply for financial aid, do it as early as possible for the best packaging. Our Financial Aid Office can provide more information about our process.
Apply for housing
If you’re planning to live on campus, apply for housing early for your best chance at your choice residence hall. Explore all our housing options and review the housing application process through Housing and Residence Life.
Complete health requirements
Before you begin classes, you must complete health forms (including immunization verification and medical history) and provide proof of insurance. You may opt to purchase a student health insurance policy instead.
Schedule a registration meeting
As a transfer student, you’ll set up your own advising session directly with your assigned advisor. We call this Advising and Registration by Appointment. Plan ahead by reviewing your degree evaluation on Degree Works, checking your degree requirements via the university catalog, and researching available courses on the UNCGenie class schedule. Then look up your advisor on UNCGenie and call to set up an appointment. We recommend completing Advising and Registration by Appointment before attending orientation. More information about how to prepare for and schedule this meeting is available on the Students First website.
Register for orientation
Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) for transfer students is a one-day program held before classes begin. At SOAR, you will take care of important business like getting your SpartanCard and parking pass. Your registration should be completed prior to orientation through a separate process called Advising and Registration by Appointment.
Send final grades
If you are currently taking classes, have your official final transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions as soon as your final grades (and degree, if applicable) post to your record. Submit all official documents by July 15 for fall admission (Dec. 21 for spring).
Pay your tuition
Students are billed electronically each semester for tuition, fees, room, and board (if applicable). Billing schedules and payment deadlines will be available at SOAR and online. Please note that bills are sent to you (not your parents), so be sure to check your iSpartan (UNCG email) account often.
