SPECIAL MESSAGE REGARDING COVID-19:
Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with local, state, and federal experts and authorities, UNC Greensboro has taken several steps regarding the health and safety of our visitors. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has canceled all on-campus tours and events until further notice. While we are disappointed we won’t have the opportunity to host future Spartans on campus at the moment, this action is consistent with decisions being made around the country.

Destination UNCG FAQs
Is there a cost to attend Destination UNCG?
No, Destination UNCG is a free event. However, attendance is restricted to students admitted as freshmen for the fall semester.
Where do I park for Destination UNCG?
Guest parking is free in the Oakland Avenue Parking Deck and Weatherspoon Art Museum parking lot. Look for signs and staff to guide you.
What is the difference between Destination UNCG and SOAR (orientation)?
Destination UNCG is a program to give admitted students a jump-start on their freshman year. The program is optional and provides an overview of the campus, encourages interaction with UNCG faculty and students, and allows students and families to address any outstanding questions and concerns. Though it is highly recommended that admitted students attend Destination UNCG, it is not mandatory.
SOAR is the mandatory summer orientation program. It is a two-day program in which students register for classes, take placement exams, turn in essential paperwork (immunization forms, financial aid papers, etc.), and attend various sessions in preparation for their arrival at UNCG.
Must my parents attend Destination UNCG with me?
Parents are invited to attend Destination UNCG with their students – and we encourage families to take this journey together – but their attendance at the program is not required. Because of space limitations, we ask that students limit guests to two.
Can I bring my siblings and friends?
While Destination UNCG is designed for students and their parents or guardians, we encourage students to attend with others who support their educational goals. Because of space limitations, we ask that students limit guests to two.
Can I stay overnight in a residence hall as part of my Destination UNCG visit?
We do not provide overnight accommodations for Destination UNCG . Check out our list of nearby hotels.
How can I learn more about on-campus housing?
The Office of Housing and Residence Life has great information – including detailed information about all the residence halls – online at hrl.uncg.edu.
