TuckerTucker D.

Major: English (with high school teaching licensure)

Anticipated graduation: 2020

Hometown: Randleman, N.C.

Motto: Keep moving forward.

Goals: To eventually become a great English professor at UNCG.

Why I chose UNCG: When I saw the university and the people, I fell in love with it.

Best UNCG moment (so far): Move-in day of my freshman year is one of my top memories of all time. Not only was it the first time ever living away from home, but also the elevators and the air conditioning in my dorm broke during move in. While it wasn't fun being hot and tired, I made a lot of friends because everyone complained together.

Biggest UNCG surprise (so far): Becoming a part of Greek life.

Favorite place on campus: The fountain area behind the Elliott University Center — it's a hidden gem on campus

On weekends: I hang out with friends, game, write killer English papers, and eat way too much.

Favorite class: "Major American Authors: Colonial to Romantic" (ENG 251) with Dr. Sanchez. She is one of the funniest and most charismatic people I have ever met, and her class really helped to solidify my choice to become an English teacher.

Student involvement: Greek Life, facility manager at the Elliott University Center.

Favorite campus eats: Chick-fil-A

Favorite Greensboro activity: Going to Friendly Center.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: The ability to eat food without gaining weight.

My advice for future Spartans: No matter what, get involved in college! There are a huge amount of opportunities in to find people interested in the same things as you, so don't be afraid to join a club or a sport or get involved in Greek life or anything else you're interested in.
