Nicole M.Nicole M.

Major: English and Spanish

Graduation Year: 2019

Hometown, State: Fayetteville, N.C.

My personal motto is: Seek to be worth knowing rather than to be well known.

My goals are: Graduate on time and work in a college admissions office somewhere.

I selected UNCG because: The staff and students I met at UNCG during my college selection process made me feel like part of the UNCG family right away. This feeling of community in such a big school was impressive and welcoming. I fell in love with the campus and people right away!

My best UNCG moment: Attending ANY of the basketball games. The school spirit here is amazing, even when our teams are not performing at their best.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: Although UNCG is a big state school, it still has a small school kind of vibe that I really appreciate.

My favorite place on campus: The Meditation Room in the EUC. It is so peaceful and pretty. It really helps you get grounded when school and life become overwhelming.

On the weekends I: Go to UNCG sports events or events sponsored by the school and watch Netflix.

My favorite class: "Major British Authors: Romantic to Modern" – Professor Langenfeld is a great teacher! Assignments are clear and the grading is fair. All of this made the class itself more enjoyable and allowed me to really focus on the literature, which was always entertaining!

I am involved in: Lloyd International Honors College and UNCG cheerleading.

My favorite food on campus: Salad line in the cafeteria.

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Look at all the nature here, including parks and even just driving around town.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: To read people's minds.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Listen to your heart when picking a school, major, or anything else in your life. Have an open mind, but do not let others’ thinking control you.
