Meet Our Spartan Guides

Major: Pre-Nursing with a Human Development and Family Studies minor

Graduation Year: 2018

Hometown: Beverly, Massachusetts

My personal motto is: Live today like there is no tomorrow.

My goals are: To get into nursing school and to help as many people as I can.

I selected UNCG because: It has one of the best nursing programs in North Carolina, and UNCG is typically warmer than any of the colleges in Massachusetts.

My best UNCG moment: Getting the call that I was selected to be a Spartan Guide. It has been one of my dreams ever since coming on a campus tour.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: How sweet everyone is here. Southern hospitality is such a breath of fresh air!

My favorite place on campus: College Avenue, because it really shows the history of UNCG. I love all of the brick, especially the Graduate Walk, and the architecture in many of the older buildings. It gives such a homey feel to our campus.

On the weekends: I love to hang out with my friends, go shopping at Friendly Center, and go to sporting events on campus.

My favorite class: Mythology with Hugh Parker. It was such an interesting and fun class, learning about the gods and goddesses in Greek myths, and it was totally worth waking up early to go.

I am involved in: The Quad Hall Council, Young Life, and Campus Crusade. My freshman year, I was the recognition officer for the Grogan Court.

My favorite food on campus: Subway (It is the only place where I can get a meatball sub!)

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Go to Maxi B's and pig out on the delicious cakes.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Teleportation. It would save so much time in the morning not having to walk somewhere.

My best advice for prospective students: Never let someone tell you that you can't do something. If you believe in yourself, you can make your dreams come true.
