Madison C.

Major: Media Studies

Graduation Year: May 2018

Hometown, State: Cary, N.C.

My personal motto is: Don’t be afraid to fail, because anyone who has never failed has never tried anything new.

My goals are: Graduate from UNCG and go onto graduate school to pursue my dream of becoming an underwater cinematographer.

I selected UNCG because: The campus and the great diversity.

My best UNCG moment: Being chosen as the recipient for the Lambda Chi Alpha Phi Theta Zeta Leadership Scholarship.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: Happening to run into the president of the UNC system, Margaret Spellings, during one of my fraternity’s philanthropic events, "Puppy Sit," and her donating money to support!

My favorite place on campus: College Avenue. It is one of my favorite places to walk on campus because you really get to see how beautiful the campus is. There is almost always something going on, and you can stop by and check it out on a break between classes to help brighten up your day.

On the weekends: I hang out with friends and sometimes take weekend trips.

My favorite class: Sociology, because taking this class really helps you get a different perspective on the world from just what you have been raised to know. It helps make you much more aware of societal issues and how to help improve them.

I am involved in: Greek Life (Lambda Chi Alpha), SGA

My favorite food on campus: Yum Yum

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Going to downtown Greensboro and checking out all the great little shops and trying out some of the great food.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Photographic memory, because studying would never be a problem again.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and find something new to do and experience with all of the great clubs and organizations we have on campus.
