Meet Our Spartan Guides

JulianJulian W.

Major: Economics

Anticipated graduation: 2019

Hometown: Apex, N.C.

Motto: If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Goals: To inspire and help others and to travel most of the world.

Why I chose UNCG: I love the size of the campus — not too big, not too small.

Best UNCG moment (so far): A big snow day my freshman year; everyone was out and about in the snow, and the caf was still open.

Biggest UNCG surprise (so far): How truly diverse the community is; you meet so many different people.

Favorite place on campus: The Elliott University Center; there's always something going on there, and it has a Chick-fil-A, so it can't really get much better.

On weekends: I pick up some Smoothie King and head to the pool.

Favorite class: "Mythology" (CCI 205) with Professor Le Blanc. You read a ton of great stories, and Professor Le Blanc is always cracking jokes and making the content relatable and fresh so it doesn't even feel as though it was written so long ago.

Student involvement: Theta Delta Chi fraternity

Favorite campus eats: East Coast Wings & Grill, but the caf is a strong second.

Favorite Greensboro activity: Trying new places to eat. There are so many downtown specifically, but you can find unique food spots pretty much anywhere in Greensboro.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Teleportation

My advice for future Spartans: Never be afraid to try new things! College is the perfect time to venture out and figure yourself out. Don't let nerves or a little embarrassment stop you from trying new things because you'll miss out on learning something new about yourself.
