Jasmine O.Joanna C.

Major: Communication Studies

Graduation Year: 2017

Hometown: Chapel Hill, N.C.

My personal motto is: Everything happens for a reason.

My goals are: To graduate from UNCG with a degree in social work and a minor in Spanish. I then want to continue my education and get my master’s degree in Social Work. After receiving my education, I want to help people in any way I can.

I selected UNCG because: Of the beautiful campus, small but large atmosphere, the diversity, and the many opportunities and resources available. It was the best decision I have ever made!

My best UNCG moment: Going to midnight breakfast with all of my friends and seeing a kiddie pool full of ice cream!

My biggest surprise at UNCG: The free tutoring available for students. It's awesome!

My favorite place on campus: College Avenue. The view is beautiful, especially in the fall, and it’s a great place to take pictures.

On the weekends: I love to hang out with friends, go visit my family, travel, and work.

My favorite class: "Introduction to Narrative." I was introduced to so many interesting books and poems that I never knew existed.

I am involved in: Intramural sports, specifically volleyball, and I also am a member of the honors society.

My favorite food on campus: Fried-chicken Wednesday [at Fountain View Dining]! The chicken is amazing and the mac and cheese is even better!

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Go walk downtown and go to Friendly Pets at Friendly Center.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: To fly!

My best advice for prospective students: Follow your dreams and listen to your heart no matter where you go in life.
