James P.James P.

Major: Communication Studies

Graduation Year: 2017

Hometown, State: Rowland, N.C.

My personal motto is: We all become what we least expected.

My goals are: To leave a positive impact on the world by motivating individuals to reach their full potential.

I selected UNCG because: I wanted to attend a university that embraces the many unique backgrounds and individual differences that make us all one-of-a-kind, and UNCG is that university.

My best UNCG moment: Attending a social justice retreat with the Office of Intercultural Engagement.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: Realizing how easy it is for students to access support.

My favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus would have to be Peabody Park. It's such a great place to work out and relax.

On the weekends: I visit family and binge-watch "House of Cards" and "Game of Thrones."

My favorite class: "Comparative Politics." I am very interested in how other states run their governments compared with my own.

I am involved in: I am a resident adviser and member of the Spartan Orientation Staff and also participate in Student Alumni Ambassadors and Kaleidoscope Social Justice Education Program.

My favorite food on campus: The various food trucks!

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Explore downtown!

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Telepathy. Or maybe manipulation of the weather, or manipulation of the Earth. I can’t really decide!

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: There is nothing you can’t accomplish, but first you have to believe that you can.
