Dalton M.Dalton M.

Major: Political Science (Concentration in Pre-Law)

Graduation Year: 2018

Hometown, State: Holly Springs, N.C.

My personal motto is: "Que Sera, Sera." This phrase means whatever will be, will be, and this is my motto to remind myself that I need to let go of the things that are out of my control and focus on the things that I can improve.

My goals are: To make in impact, not just in my local community but in communities across the country. I believe I can do so in becoming a successful attorney and being that voice for people who don't have one.

I selected UNCG because: It offered the perfect balance between challenge and opportunity and it was the most affordable option.

My best UNCG moment: When a program I had created through my Hall Council was awarded the best program of the year. The program focused on sexual assault awareness and encouraging an environment of self-love throughout the community. It was amazing that such an important program – that I had created – was recognized in such a meaningful way.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: That there are so many options to get involved here, and that there is absolutely a place for everybody here at UNCG.

My favorite place on campus: The Digital Media Commons. It offers a change of scenery for myself and my friends to work on schoolwork, plus it's extremely comfortable.

On the weekends: I like to hang out with my friends, watch Netflix, or go to fun events on campus.

My favorite class: A freshman seminar I had my first semester that focused on King Arthur literature. The reason I loved the class was because my professor made my first semester at UNCG worthwhile.

I am involved in: In addition to being a Spartan Guide, I am a member of the Spartan Orientation Staff and a resident adviser in Cone Residence Hall.

My favorite food on campus: The breakfast options at Fountain View Dining Hall. I get something from that area every time I go in to eat.

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Go to Friendly Pets. You can sit and play with puppies. It’s a huge stress reliever, and plus, it’s all for free.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Super speed, because I could travel anywhere I wanted in the blink of an eye and save a lot of time.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Make the absolute most of your college experience, no matter what obstacles stand in your way. Get involved in what you want. Go to the events you want.
