DakotaDakota C.

Major: Media Studies

Anticipated graduation: 2020

Hometown: Trinity, N.C.

Motto: Do what you love and pursue your passion.

Goals: Be happy, go into a career field I enjoy, stay involved in theatre, and make other people happy.

Why I chose UNCG: The people are so friendly and diverse. There's no other campus like it.

Best UNCG moment (so far): Performing in my first musical outside of high school at the Community Theatre of Greensboro. The cast was mostly UNCG students and I got so close with everyone. Plus, it was the biggest role I've ever had!

Biggest UNCG surprise (so far): There are so many incredibly talented people here. I knew that it was an arts-heavy school, but I had no idea the talent that was here.

Favorite place on campus: College Avenue; it's always bustling with life and is so pretty year-round.

On weekends: I hang out with friends, watch movies, relax, and sleep.

Favorite class: "Class Voice" (MUP 125), a musical theatre repertoire class that let me pursue my talents and grow as a performer.

Student involvement: Alpha Psi Omega (theatre honor society).

Favorite campus eats: Sam's Oven & Grill (on Tate Street).

Favorite Greensboro activity: Go downtown to LeBauer Park or just explore Greensboro.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Flight. It's cliché, but it'd be so cool to travel and see the world.

My advice for future Spartans: It's not as scary as it seems. College seems to be such a scary place, and so different from high school. Even though it's different, the transition isn't that hard, and there are plenty of people here who are determined to see you succeed!
