Meet Our Spartan Guides

ColtraneColtrane B.

Major: Psychology (pre-medicine)

Anticipated graduation: 2019

Hometown: Charlotte, N.C.

Motto: You gotta risk it to get the brisket!

Goals: Graduate UNCG and find my way in the medical world, whether through admission to medical school or physician assistant school.

Why I chose UNCG: The diversity and size of the school. I get to meet many people from many backgrounds!

Best UNCG moment (so far): Getting my job at the library and becoming a part of our library family!

Biggest UNCG surprise (so far): Changing my major from Media Studies to Psychology with Pre-Medicine because I missed science in my life.

Favorite place on campus: Jackson Library — I get a lot of work done there, and all my friends work there!

On weekends: Go out to eat and go to parks!

Favorite class: I love my biology classes. I have never had a bad biology teacher, and science is truly my favorite.

Student involvement: Desk assistant at Jackson Library, member of Ashby Residential College.

Favorite campus eats: Wild Greens; the make-your-own salad option is awesome, and they will put goat cheese on it.

Favorite Greensboro activity: Go downtown and explore!

If I could have a superpower, it would be: I would have "The Force." It's like telekinesis and the art of persuasion combined — it seems like it would be fun to have.

My advice for future Spartans: Get involved! There is more to college than classes. You could have an on-campus job, join a club, do research! Once you get involved, you won't be able to stop.
