Alison M.Alison M.

Major: Elementary Education with a concentration in History

Graduation Year: 2018

Hometown: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

My goals are: To get my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and become a kindergarten teacher.

I selected UNCG because: As soon as I stepped foot on campus, I knew this is where I belonged.

My best UNCG moment (so far): Experiencing my very first snow day. Practically the entire student body came out and had a huge snowball fight in the Quad.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: How caring and helpful the professors are.

My favorite place on campus: The fountain. During the day, it is the central hangout hub on campus, filled with people, music, and entertainment. After the sun sets, it is peaceful, relaxing, and a great place for studying.

On the weekends: I watch A LOT of baseball, hang out with my friends, and go exploring around town.

My favorite class: "Personal and Academic Success" with Bill Johnson, because his goal was to help give us guidance and ask the questions no one ever asked. That way, we could decide who we wanted to be in the world and how we could do it.

I am involved in: Campus ministry.

My favorite food on campus: Jamba Juice in the Elliott University Center.

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Go downtown. There is an amazing taco place that is absolutely delicious and the workers are super friendly.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: Shape-shifting.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Challenge yourself academically, but give yourself plenty of time for fun as well.
