Meet Our Spartan Guides

Muriel L.Muriel L.

Major: English

Hometown: Fountain, North Carolina

My personal motto is: "Be happy so long as breath is in you."

I selected UNCG because: It has a good theater program (my original major), and is fairly close to home without making me feel like I'm too close.

My favorite place on campus: The Salad Bowl, also known as Foust Park. It's beautiful and lush and green. It's just a lovely place to sit and relax.

My favorite class: English 211: British Authors, Medieval to the Neoclassical with Dr. Jennifer Feather. Dr. Feather is a spectacular teacher who really challenged us; I felt like I actually learned a lot of really cool things in her class. Plus, I love British literature.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Take as much time as you need to figure out what you want to do, what you're passionate about, and then stick with it. Just do what makes you happy.
