My personal motto is: "Never give up, never surrender." Yes, I am a Toy Story fan. I believe that with hard work and dedication anything is possible, although it might not happen the way that you plan.

My goals are: To become a high school history teacher and go to graduate school. I have always loved learning and any opportunity to further my education. I love working with high school students and sharing what history can teach us.

My best UNCG moment: Being recognized as outstanding Student Leader of the Year for 2010-2011. I was honored to be chosen, and for me I felt as though I had developed a lot that year. I was enthusiastic to be part of a larger group of talented student leaders who are passionate not only about their studies, but also their individual interests and in serving their community.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: Has definitely been how well I have managed to fit in and get involved on campus. My biggest concern in my transition between high school and college was "slipping through the cracks." I would find, however, that at UNCG I would make awesome friendships, have amazing experiences, and encounter some of the most caring faculty and staff.

My favorite place on campus: Is by far the Foust Building, due not only to its architectural beauty, but also to its story. Knowing that the Foust Building is the oldest building on campus and dates back to when the institution was founded makes the history major in me go gaga. For me, Foust serves as a symbol for two of the institution’s original goals: training teachers and providing greater access to higher education.

On the weekends I: Hang out with my friends, go to the theater or movies, or meet up with my parents for dinner. Every weekend is a new experience.

My favorite food on campus: I am an absolute fan of Spartan Restaurant. Whenever I have a meal in the dining hall, I always run into someone I know. What can be better than sharing a meal with your friends?

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Make the most of your time in college. You are going to meet tons of people with different experiences, attend courses with professors who are highly respected in their fields, and have the opportunity to utilize more campus resources than you can count.
