My personal motto is: Laughter can make anything better!
My goals are: To be happy, healthy, and smiling all the time!
I selected UNCG because: It is the perfect school for me. I have never felt more comfortable in a place than I have at UNCG. No matter where I am on campus, I feel as if I am a part of the Spartan family. UNCG and the students who attend the university bleed blue and gold everywhere they go. I wanted to be a part of a community that is supportive and shows pride for everything they can and will accomplish.
My best UNCG moment: This has to be the very first day I moved into my dorm. At that moment I realized I was officially a UNCG Spartan and there was no turning back now. I had a place where I fit in and could make friends who will be with me for years to come.
My biggest surprise at UNCG: how many activities there are to do on campus. There is constantly something to do no matter what time of day it is. You will never feel bored being on the campus of UNCG.
My favorite place on campus: the steps of the Curry building. I have loved them since the first day I stepped foot onto College Ave. The Curry steps are the perfect stop to just take a seat and look out at our beautiful campus. You can see almost every part of campus from the steps of Curry and sitting there on one of the first days of classes, I realized that this is what college is all about -- soaking up the sun, having fun, and getting an education.
On the weekends I: am a busy body, working my second job as a restaurant hostess and trying to be a productive college student at the same time. I spend a lot of my time studying, working, and fitting in little catnaps so that I have the energy to spend time with my roommates and friends. There is no fun till the work is done!
My favorite class: Dance Appreciation. I never thought when I signed up for the class that I would enjoy it so much! I figured we would just be learning about how dance styles occurred and when in history they did so, but we learned so much more than that. I gained a great appreciation for different cultures and for the people who make dance their career. I gained a little rhythm, too.
My favorite food on campus: Though I love all the food on campus, my favorite would have to be Thanksgiving lunch at the Caf. I save the date on my calendar weeks in advance and count down the days until I get to enjoy the best meal of the year.
My one piece of advice for prospective students is: to enjoy college because it flies by in an instant! Make sure you maintain a balance between work, school, and play. That will be your key to a successful college career.
