Dominique H.Dominique H.

Major: Nursing

Graduation Year: 2013

Hometown: Dallas, North Carolina

My goals are: To graduate nursing school, eventually become a nursing educator, and strive to be the best nurse I can possibly be.

I selected UNCG because: Of the diversity of the school and because of the closeness you feel among members of the campus community.

My biggest surprise at UNCG: Having professors know me by my first name and not just feeling like a number. Also, I was surprised at seeing how much the professors want the students to succeed.

My favorite place on campus: Sitting in front of Grogan, enjoying the fresh air, and chatting with friends. There is something about nature, a cool breeze, and the sun on my face that seems to take my worries away, making me feel rejuvenated and ready to achieve all my goals.

On the weekends I: Tend to study most of the time and catch up on much-needed rest. Then I chill with friends or my sorority sisters.

My favorite class: Microbiology. We got to grow bacteria and look at them under the microscope, and we came to understand the effects different bacteria have on our body. We learned a lot and had fun while we were doing it.

Favorite thing to do in Greensboro: Catching the latest movies at the dollar theater.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: I would love to read peoples' minds to see what they are really thinking about and to understand nursing concepts. It would be like having the teachers' experience and knowledge.

My one piece of advice for prospective students is: Study hard and try your best. Never give up on your dreams in life.
