Living On Campus
As a UNCG student, you will soon discover that the learning process occurs both in and outside the classroom. Living on campus offers an exciting and unique opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds. It is a learning experience unlike any other. Please visit the Housing and Residence Life site for information on specific residence halls.
Signing up for housing is easier than ever. Everything you need for housing reservations is online. To sign up for housing, you will need your University ID Number and your UNCG Computer Account Username. (You received your username when you activated your computer accounts. It is the first part of your UNCG email address.)
To sign up for housing:
- Before signing up for housing, please make sure you have accepted our offer of admission and activated your computer accounts.
- Visit hrl.uncg.edu and click Housing Application.
- Please read carefully the information concerning program and building choices, and the application process. Pay special attention to the Housing & Dining Services Contract.
- Return to the Applications and Forms page, complete the appropriate housing application, and submit it electronically.
How to check on the status of your housing application/room assignment:
- Go to the UNCGenie Web site and click Enter Secure Area.
- Enter your University ID Number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN)* and click the Login button.
- Click Personal Information and then View Housing Assignment.
* To register for housing, your University ID and Personal Identification Number (PIN) are required. You receive your University ID number via email after your receive your offer of admission. Once you have your University ID, please visit getmypin.uncg.edu and enter the requested information to receive your PIN. If you have any problems with your PIN, please visit getmypin.uncg.edu or contact 6-TECH Technical Support by phone at (336) 256-TECH (8324).
Your hall/room assignment
New residents will be assigned based on date of receipt of the completed online application and receipt of the pre-payment (see Housing & Dining Contract). The $200 pre-payment must be received by Housing and Residence Life no later than 5 days after the online application is submitted. If the pre-payment is not submitted within 5 days, the application will be cancelled and a new application must be submitted online. Please visit hrl.uncg.edu for more information. Housing and Residence Life is not able to guarantee housing for the spring semester.
You will not be assigned to a room until you have also completed the following steps:
- Accept UNCG’s offer of admission using SpartanLink.
- Attend one of the required SOAR programs.
All new students who attend the Spartan Orientation, Advising, and Registration program (SOAR) will stay in a residence hall and have the opportunity to ask our staff questions about life in the halls.
If your plans change...
If you have signed up to live on campus and you are no longer planning to attend UNCG, you must contact Housing & Residence Life to cancel your housing. Please call (336) 334-5636 for more information.
