Parent Information

The paths to success are often shared.

As parents, you have every right to expect first-rate services and a safe and supportive campus environment where students can flourish.

UNCG is committed to providing services that promote the emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of our students. The psychologists at the Counseling and Testing Center are available to offer counseling, and physicians at Student Health Services provide basic medical care. The Associated Campus Ministries Center welcomes all denominations, and students can stay in shape and relieve stress at our state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center.

UNCG's strong sense of community is felt in our 26 residence halls, many of which house living-learning communities designed to promote a sense of belonging. For details about residence halls, housing deadlines, and other information, visit Housing and Residence Life.

At UNCG, we take the safety of our students very seriously. Our police officers meet the highest standards of law enforcement and crime prevention, and a walking safety escort program is available to students seven nights per week. To keep parents informed in the event of a campus emergency, UNCG offers FamilyLink, an emergency email notification system. In addition, UNCG's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available online.

From our freshman summer orientation program to graduation and beyond, UNCG students find people ready to help them at every turn. The following pages will give you more information on the many resources available to students and other topics of interest to parents:
