The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology centers on developing and applying a scientific understanding of mind and behavior in five major areas of psychology: Behavior Analysis, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology. In addition, there is an emerging emphasis in the department on teaching biological psychology and neuroscience.

- Annual Kendon Smith Lectures bring psychologists from around the nation to UNCG to discuss research issues

- Psi Chi (Psychology Honor Society) sponsors social and academic events.
Student Opportunities
- Opportunities every semester to conduct independent research under the direction of a faculty member
- Undergraduates present their research in a poster session at the end of each semester
- Honors in Psychology program that allows advanced students with strong academic records to gain in-depth seminar and research experience
- Psychology 472 enables students to supplement direct internship experience with classroom discussion and interpretation
- Examples of past internship sites include the Greensboro Police Department and various mental health agencies
